Butte College is a student-ready, rural community college that provides high-quality, accessible education and support. 

Since its founding in 1967, Butte College has been a leader in providing high-quality education and workforce training. Located in the foothills of Oroville, the college combines academic excellence with a strong focus on environmental stewardship. 

Butte College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Butte College is committed to providing accessible higher education where all students can succeed.

Butte College has a long history of sustainability. In 2011, we became the first college campus to become grid-positive.

In November 2016, voters approved Measure J, a $190 million general obligation bond to upgrade classrooms to improve safety.

The Butte College Police Department is dedicated to our college's people, traditions, and diversity. We ensure that all students and employees can learn and work in a safe environment free from violence.
