Roadrunner Hub
The Roadrunner Hub Basic Needs Resource Center (Hub) is a network of people and programs that offer students food, housing resources, and other services to support student basic needs and reduce barriers. Additionally, the Hub aims to connect students to community resources to ensure they have a sustainable source of support during their time at Butte College and beyond.

Access Services
To utilize Roadrunner Hub services, please fill out the Basic Needs Assessment Form. The form will help us identify what services best fit your needs.
The Roadrunner Food Pantry is a donation-based pantry that allows students to grocery shop on campus for food and hygiene items.
Butte County Medi-Cal Liaisons visit the Hub once a month to assist with any Medi-Cal questions. Book an appointment for a timeslot on the main campus.
The Roadrunner Hub can provide assistance with the CalFresh application process.
Eligible students can apply for a temporary rent relief grant through our Homeless and Housing Insecurity Pilot Grant.
We are dedicated to helping students locate and secure housing, and supporting students who are currently without housing or at risk of losing housing.
Students can access showers in the campus gymnasium during the designated hours of operation. Students without housing can sign up with the Roadrunner Hub and be issued a lock for the semester To sign up, come to the Roadrunner Hub and ask for
You can request a B-Line bus pass at The Hub. Students must be enrolled in classes for the current semester and have completed their FAFSA to be eligible.
Find low-cost childcare during classes and other resources at the Child Development Center; learn about CalWORKS/TANF resources through our CARE program.

PG&E Discount Rates
Discounted PG&E Rates: CARE and FERA are PG&E discount program that help eligible customers pay energy bills.
California Alternate Rates for Energy Program (CARE). A monthly discount of 20% or more on gas and electricity. Participants qualify through income guidelines or if enrolled in certain public assistance programs.
Family Electric Rate Assistance Program (FERA). A monthly discount of 18% on electricity only. Must be a household with three or more people. Participants qualify through income guidelines.

Phone Services
Free Phones: The California LifeLine Program (California LifeLine) is a state program that provides discounted home phone and cell phone services to eligible households. The California LifeLine discounts help consumers lower the cost of their phone bills.

Technology Access
California Connect provides low-cost internet access. The service includes a mobile hotspot that lets you stay connected to the internet in school, at home, and on the go.
CollegeBuys (by the Foundation for California Community Colleges) provides a range of technology products at reduced prices.

CalFresh is FREE money to help you buy groceries. CalFresh benefits are loaded onto an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) debit card each month and can be spent in-person at most grocery stores and farmers’ markets or through online grocery purchasing. With CalFresh, you can get up to $291 per month for a single household to buy food to help promote your success, in and out of the classroom.

Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid program that allows eligible individuals and/or families to access medical programs at little to no cost. If you're interested in applying for Medi-Cal, Butte County representatives (liaisons) visit the Hub frequently to assist with the application process. Book an appointment for a timeslot on campus.

The Roadrunner House is a partnership between the Butte College Roadrunner Hub and Chico Housing Action Team (CHAT) that provides housing for students who are currently without housing. Through this partnership, students will be provided a safe and supportive environment to be able to get back on their feet and transition to permanent housing.

Eligible students can also apply for a temporary rent relief grant through our Homeless and Housing Insecurity Pilot Grant. This grant can provide up to 1 month of emergency funds for students who are currently housed, but are currently:
- In receipt of a 3-day pay or quit notice or verification that residence is not safe/habitable environment
- In receipt of a judgment for eviction as ordered by court
- Lost employment within the last 30 days (must be actively looking for employment)
