The Butte College Promise Scholarship
The Butte College Promise Scholarship (BCPS) helps eligible first-time, full-time students attend Butte College by covering enrollment fees and required student service fees for up to two academic years.
The BCPS is not paid directly to students. Instead, it is applied to your student account to cover enrollment and student service fees.
Receiving the BCPS
The BCPS covers:
- The per-unit enrollment fees
- Required student service fees, such as health and transportation fees
The BCPS does not cover:
- Textbooks and supplies
- Housing or living expenses
- Materials fees associated with specific courses or programs
- Other educational costs
Eligibility
You may be eligible for the BCPS if you:
- Are a first-time college student (college coursework completed while in high school does not affect eligibility)
- Are a California resident or have AB540 status
- Submit a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by the college census date
- Are enrolled in at least 12 units at the college census date

If you remain eligible, you may receive the scholarship during consecutive fall and spring semesters for up to two academic years.
If you stop attending, are no longer enrolled full-time, or do not continue to meet the scholarship requirements, you may lose eligibility to continue receiving the scholarship in future semesters.
Because the scholarship is intended to support continuous progress toward an educational goal, you may not be able to resume the scholarship at a later date unless eligibility is reinstated through the approved appeal process.

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG) helps eligible California students attend Butte College tuition-free by waiving enrollment fees.
The CCPG is not paid directly to students. Instead, it is applied to your student account to cover enrollment fees.
Receiving the CCPG
The CCPG waives the per-unit enrollment fees.
The CCPG does not cover:

Eligibility
You may be eligible for the CCPG if you:
- Are a CA resident or have AB 540 status
