Academic Technology Committee

The Academic Technology Committee (ATC) advises the Butte College Academic Senate, Technology Council, and Technology Mediated Instruction (TMI) office on the use of technology to support teaching and student learning. The committee provides guidance on Canvas and related learning tools, serves as a collaborative voice on instructional technology matters, and organizes the annual ATC Symposium during Spring FLEX Week, featuring presentations on technology and education.

Role of the Committee

The Academic Technology Committee (ATC) serves in an advisory capacity, providing recommendations and guidance on instructional technology that supports teaching and student learning across the college. The committee collaborates with key campus groups to ensure technology decisions align with educational needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advising the Academic Senate on instructional technology matters.
  • Providing recommendations to the District Technology Council.
  • Serving as the primary faculty advisory group for the Technology Mediated Instruction (TMI) office.
  • Consulting on the configuration and use of Canvas and related learning tools (LTIs).
  • Supporting the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.
  • Planning and hosting the annual ATC Symposium during Spring FLEX Week.
