Chico State Cross Enrollment
Cross-enrollment is a program for current Butte College students planning to transfer to CSU, Chico. This program allows students to enroll in one class at Chico State for free while still attending Butte.

Cross-enrollment is a program for current Butte College students planning to transfer to CSU, Chico. This program allows student to enroll in one class at Chico State for FREE while still attending Butte. To be eligible for cross-enrollment a student must have completed:
- 30 transferable units, for Spring units completed by prior Summer. For Fall units completed by end of Spring.
- Transferable 2.0 GPA
- Completed English 2 or 3, or 1000
- Plan to transfer to CSUC in the future
- Must have any outside official transcripts on file
Call Counseling and Advising for more information and to schedule a Cross Enrollment application appointment with a counselor. Students must sign up early in the beginning of the Fall semester for Spring participation. Sign up early, as space is limited. Deadline to apply for a Spring class is November 30. Deadline to apply for Fall class is May 15.
CSU Chico Cross Enrollment Program Agreement
To Participate
- Complete Part A of the Cross Enrollment application with your Butte TCC Counselor to verify unit enrollment/completion and GPA. Attach unofficial transcripts. The completed application will be forwarded to CSU, Chico for eligibility verification.
- Students must reapply for each term they wish to participate in Cross Enrollment.
- Upon approval, CSU, Chico will send an email in mid-December for spring or mid-July for fall. This email includes instructions to set up your CSU, Chico portal, register, and attend mandatory orientation. Students must check their Butte College email and junk mail folders regularly. Continuing students must check their Chico portal for updates.
- No registration fee is required. Students are responsible for lab fees, books, and course materials.
- Students must agree to follow CSU, Chico rules regarding parking, adding/dropping classes, student conduct, campus services, and library use.
Restrictions
- Formerly enrolled CSU, Chico students are not eligible.
- International or high school students are not eligible.
- Students may not have a CSU, Chico admission application on file for the same semester they wish to participate.
- Upper division Nursing and Recording Arts courses are not available through Cross Enrollment.
- Courses offered only through The Center for Regional and Continuing Education are not available through this program.
- Students with a baccalaureate degree are not eligible.
- Students accepted into the program who do not register or attend a class are not eligible to reapply.
- Enrollment is limited to one course per semester for Butte College students.
