Butte College Welcomes More Than 10,000 Students for Fall Semester

Butte College is kicking off the fall semester with more than 10,000 students enrolled, an increase of approximately 5% over Fall 2025 and the college’s largest fall enrollment in nearly a decade.
With students back on campus and classes underway, Butte College is looking ahead to a semester of learning, connection and involvement.
Students are being welcomed throughout the first weeks of the semester with a full schedule of Welcome Weeks activities hosted by Student Services. The events are designed to help students get comfortable on campus, meet faculty and staff, connect with other students and discover the programs, services, clubs and resources available to support their success.
This week’s activities include Counseling & Advising drop-ins for students with questions about registration, class schedules and education plans; Ask Me booths to help students find their way around campus; and Student Welcome events featuring campus booths, prizes and opportunities to learn more about life at Butte College.
Students at the college’s centers are also getting in on the fun, with events including Sweet Start to the Semester and Slice into Success at the Glenn County Center, EOPS Loves Chico Center Students, and opportunities to meet college leaders through events like Donuts with the Dean.
And the welcome continues beyond the first week. Students can find the full schedule of upcoming activities and events at butte.edu/events.
For students who are still looking to enroll, there is still time to join the fall semester. Butte College offers late-start and fast-track courses that can provide additional opportunities to get started. Students can find information about available courses and add/drop deadlines at butte.edu/admissions.
As enrollment continues to grow and a new semester begins, Butte College is excited to welcome students back and support them throughout their educational journey.
