Butte College Performing Arts Announces Spring 2026 Season

Butte College Performing Arts invites the community to experience a dynamic spring 2026 season featuring live music, theatre, and interdisciplinary performances that highlight student talent and creative collaboration.

This semester's lineup brings together a wide range of performances, from jazz and pop concerts to choral showcases, theatre, and a full-scale fashion production. Each event reflects the department's commitment to hands-on learning, artistic exploration, and community connection.

"Each production represents sustained effort in rehearsal rooms, studios, and classrooms," said Ryan Heimlich, chair of the Butte College Performing Arts Department. "These are moments where students apply their training, refine their craft, and share their work with a live audience."

The season opens April 9 with jazz performances that explore the evolution of the genre, followed by a Spring Pop Band Show featuring student-led groups performing contemporary music and original works. Instrumental performances continue with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble's Reflections in Sound: Music as Art, an immersive experience connecting music with visual art.

In May, audiences can experience a variety of performances across disciplines. The Rhythm & Riffs Music Festival on May 2, at Café Coda, offers a free, family-friendly outdoor event featuring multiple ensembles and community partners.

Additional highlights include the Small Ensemble Concert, Faculty Recital, and the Kaleidoscope performance, which brings together students, faculty, and community members for an eclectic evening of artistic expression.

The season concludes with performances by the North Valley Youth Wind Symphony and Butte Winds on May 26, further strengthening connections between the college and regional musicians.

All performances are designed to be accessible, engaging, and rooted in student learning. Whether attending a concert, festival, or theatrical production, audiences play an essential role in supporting student success and the arts at Butte College.
