Important Financial Aid Disbursement Update — October 2026
Due to the recent security incident involving BankMobile, Butte College has temporarily paused electronic financial aid disbursements through BankMobile. As a precaution, financial aid refunds scheduled for October 8, 2026, will be issued by paper check.
Students who may receive a financial aid refund this week were sent an email to their Butte College student email account with instructions to select how they would like to receive their check.
Students have two options:
- Pick up your check at the Main Campus: Checks will be available on the first floor of the Campus Center on:
- Thursday, October 8, from 1:00–5:00 p.m.
- Friday, October 9, from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Students must bring a valid Butte College Student ID or government-issued photo ID.
- Have your check mailed: Checks will be mailed to the mailing address currently on file with Butte College through the U.S. Postal Service no later than Friday, October 9.
This temporary process applies only to the October 8 financial aid disbursement and does not permanently change a student's BankMobile refund preference.
We understand that receiving a paper check may create an inconvenience for some students. Protecting student financial aid funds is our priority, and this temporary process allows Butte College to continue issuing financial aid refunds while the BankMobile security incident is being addressed.
Bus Service Available October 9
We will run bus services on Friday, October 9, to help students traveling to the main campus to pick up their financial aid checks.
