Associate Degree in Social and Behavioral Science
Upon successful completion of the Associate in Arts in Social and Behavioral Science, students will be able to identify major theoretical perspectives in the social and behavioral sciences and describe key concepts related to human behavior and thought. They will use critical thinking skills to analyze, evaluate, and make informed decisions about complex contemporary issues and the interactions among individuals, groups, and societies.

Associate Degree for Transfer in Psychology $_EscapeTool.xml($pTitle.value)
The Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer (AA-T) creates a pathway for students planning to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at a CSU. This degree provides the foundational knowledge and skills comprising the first two years of many psychology programs. Students completing the AA-T in Psychology are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, though not to a specific campus or major, and will be required to complete no more than 60 units after transfer.
Flexibility
You can complete all the required courses for this degree Online, so you have flexibility in where you're physically located. If you prefer to attend in person, you'll need to combine Main Campus or the Chico Center with Online or another location, since neither offers all required courses on their own. Either way, your general education requirements can be done at any of our centers or online.

Associate Degree for Transfer in Sociology
The Associate in Arts in Sociology for Transfer (AA-T) is designed for students planning to earn a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at a CSU. Completion of this degree guarantees admission to the CSU system, though not to a specific campus or major, and students transferring to a participating CSU will complete no more than 60 additional units after transfer.

You can complete the required courses for this degree by combining the Chico Center and Online, or by mixing Main Campus with Online—both combinations have covered all the major coursework reliably in recent terms. Since no single location offers everything you need, you'll want to plan on attending at least two different locations or taking some courses online. Associate Degree for Transfer in Philosophy
The Associate in Arts in Philosophy for Transfer (AA-T) provides a pathway to a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at a CSU. Students gain foundational knowledge in logic, ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology while developing strong analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills. This degree prepares students not just for further study in philosophy but also for careers in fields such as law, education, and management.
Flexibility
You can complete most of your required Philosophy coursework online, which gives you flexibility to study from anywhere with internet access. A few required courses show up reliably at Main Campus as well, so you'll likely combine online sections with occasional in-person classes there. Meet with a counselor to map out your specific course sequence and confirm availability for the terms when you plan to enroll.

Certificate of Completion in Sustainability Studies
(Not Eligible for Financial Aid) The Sustainability Studies Certificate is designed to broaden students’ understanding of the interconnected social, economic, and environmental transformations of the 21st century. This interdisciplinary program explores the challenges facing human civilization as well as the solutions that support a sustainable future. Students will develop leadership skills that promote cooperation, respect, and innovative approaches to social change, economic prosperity, and environmental restoration. The certificate enhances career opportunities by increasing workforce marketability and enriching the knowledge of those pursuing further education in sustainability-related fields.

You'll need to split your required coursework between Main Campus and Online to finish this certificate, since neither location alone offers all the courses you need. Main Campus covers some of your required courses, while Online covers others—so you'll likely take some classes at each. Your general education can be completed at any of our centers or online, which gives you flexibility for that part of the degree.
