Associate Degree for Transfer in Kinesiology
The Associate in Arts in Kinesiology for Transfer degree (AA-T) is designed for students planning to pursue a bachelorās degree in Kinesiology at a CSU campus. Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, though not to a specific campus or major. Those who transfer to a CSU that accepts the degree will be required to complete no more than 60 additional units to earn a bachelorās degree.
Associate Degree in Kinesiology
The Associate Degree in Kinesiology prepares students to be able to identify and describe the major concepts, theoretical principles, historical development, and current trends in the field of kinesiology. They will assess their own physical activity levels in relation to lifelong fitness and describe how physical activity influences physiological responses and adaptations to exercise. Students will recognize how anatomical factors such as age, gender, individual goals, and special needs affect movement and performance.
Associate Degree in Physical Education: Exercise Physiology
The Associate Degree in Physical Education: Exercise Physiology prepares students to be able to identify and describe the major concepts, theoretical principles, historical development, and current trends within the field of kinesiology. They will explain how physical activity influences physiological responses and adaptations to exercise and recognize how anatomical factorsāsuch as age, gender, individual goals, and special needsāaffect movement and performance.
Flexibility
The programs in this cluster are primarily offered at Main Campus, where you can complete most or all of your major requirements. If Main Campus doesn't fit your schedule, you have some flexibility to combine courses at the Chico Center, Glenn Center, or Online, though you'll likely need to work with a counselor to plan which courses to take at each location since not all required courses are available at every location every term.

Asuka (Morooka) Pheap
Asuka's Journey
Asuka graduated from the University of the Pacific with her Master of Arts degree in 2021, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Health, Exercise, and Sport Science department, teaching exercise physiology lab classes. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at CSU Fresno, working with division 1 men’s basketball and track and field. In 2015, she completed her Associate of Arts degree in Kinesiology at Butte College, while competing for the women’s basketball team and completing the requirements for her sports medicine internship.
Prior to Delta College, Asuka served as the head athletic trainer at Edison High School for 3 years, providing medical care for 20 teams. She assisted the football team in winning SJAA back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019.
