Student Learning Outcomes Committee
The Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Committee supports a culture of continuous improvement by promoting the assessment of student learning at the course, program, general education, and institutional levels. The committee helps ensure that assessment processes enhance student success while meeting accreditation requirements and fostering meaningful institutional dialogue about learning outcomes.
Role of the Committee
The committee oversees the college’s student learning outcomes assessment and reporting processes and provides guidance to the SLO Coordinator in support of continuous improvement and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and feedback to the SLO coordinator
- Review and update SLO assessment reporting processes
- Review and assess general education learning outcomes (GELOs) and institutional learning outcomes (ILOs)
- Support departments and programs with their assessment of course student learning outcomes (cSLOs) and program learning outcomes (PLOs)
- Train faculty in assessment strategies
- Foster a cross-disciplinary learning and assessment community
- Coordinate with student services to develop and assess SLOs
- Apply its findings to program review, annual planning, strategic planning, and accreditation processes

- Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month from 3:30 - 5:00 PM PT.
- The committee aims for the first Tuesday of the month unless there is a conflict or holiday.
