Butte College Career Center Student reviews document

Employers, Faculty, and Staff

Butte College connects employers with motivated, career-ready students through job postings, internships, and campus partnerships. Whether you're a faculty or staff member looking to support student career development or a local employer hoping to hire emerging talent, the Career Center is here to help. Below, you’ll find resources to post jobs and internships on Handshake, participate in our Work Experience (WEX) and work-study programs, and bring career services into your classroom, office, or organization.

Employer Resources

Handshake is our official job board for connecting students with on-campus employment and community opportunities. To post open positions and access student applications, employers, faculty, and staff must create a Handshake account.

For instructions, view our Handshake tutorial.

WEX is a program where students can earn credits at a job or internship while employers get a jump start on nurturing new talent. Students are responsible for submitting forms to the Career Center; we email the employer an agreement to e-sign. They'll also be asked to mail certificates of insurance to the college. Email the Career Center for more information.

Faculty and Staff Resources

Federal Work-Study (FWS) allows faculty and staff to hire Butte students to work on campus. FWS pay is limited to minimum wage. Students may work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session and up to 39 hours per week during regular academic breaks.

The student must complete the Student Employment Application Form and return it to the Human Resources Office (SAS 344) upon hire.

WEX for Faculty and Staff

Work Experience (WEX) is a class where students can earn units based on what they learn at a job or internship. Faculty advisors help students develop learning goals and grade students' learning progress at the end of the semester.
