Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction

The Center for Academic Success offers free tutoring to help you strengthen your understanding of course material and build confidence in your academic skills. Tutoring is available in a wide range of subjects including math, science, writing, language, and more. Sessions are offered in person at multiple campus locations and online for added flexibility.

Tutoring

Tutoring is offered in the Center for Academic Success (CAS). CAS is open at three locations during the Fall 2025 semester.

CAS Locations and Hours

Specific tutor schedules for your classes are available in the Penji app. This is a free app you can find in your app store. Access is also available in the EDUC 310 course in Canvas. Please contact us if you have trouble accessing tutor schedules.

Reading and Writing Center

Reading and writing tutors include Instructional Aides (who are embedded in many English classes) and Peer Writing Coaches, who have experience with Butte College writing assignments. Tutors can help students with reading and writing for any class at any point in the writing process.

Statistics Help

Statistics tutoring is currently available at all CAS locations.

The Statistics Lounge is open during Spring and Fall semesters for students on main campus, inside CAS (LRC 203).

NetTutor Free Online Tutoring

To access NetTutor, students can log in through any class in Canvas. If your instructor hasn’t activated the link, you can access it free in EDUC 310. This is another great reason to enroll in CAS services!

NetTutor is a pilot program supported by the statewide Online Education Initiative. Students have free access to the 24/7 online tutoring provided in NetTutor.
