Jeff Jordan Inducted into Football Coaches Hall of Fame

Longtime Butte College educator and former head football coach Jeff Jordan was inducted into the California Community Colleges Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on March 14, 2026, recognizing his outstanding contributions to community college athletics.
Jordan spent 19 years coaching at Butte College and played a major role in building the Butte College Roadrunners football program into one of the nation's premier community college programs. During his 11 seasons as head coach from 2006 to 2016, the Roadrunners achieved remarkable success, winning two state and national championships, six conference championships, and earning multiple Coach of the Year honors at the conference, state, and national levels. Prior to becoming head coach, Jordan served eight years as an assistant coach.
Beyond wins and championships, Jordan helped shape the future of hundreds of student-athletes. Many of his players went on to play at four-year universities and at the professional level, including Aaron Rodgers, Danny Watkins, Josh Bellamy, Alex Green, Jordan Rodgers, Rashad Ross, Geoff Swaim, and Rigo Sanchez.
In 2017, Jordan stepped down as head coach but remained at Butte College as a full-time faculty member in the health, kinesiology, and athletics department, where he now serves as department chair. In this role, he continues to inspire students through hands-on learning and mentorship, reflecting his teaching philosophy of "learn by doing."
