Steps to Apply

Review, complete, and submit documents listed below to the International Student Program Office via email to international@butte.edu
You can submit documents one at a time or all together.  They will be reviewed as they are received within  2–5 business days. If documents are missing or we have questions about a document we will let you know.
If admitted, we’ll email you an acceptance letter and a Form I-20—your Certificate of Eligibility for an F-1 student visa.

International Student Application

Students must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level required for academic success. You can meet this requirement in one of the following ways:

  • Submit scores from a recognized English language proficiency test.

  • Submit transcripts from a U.S. college showing completion of college-level English (equivalent to English C1000 at Butte) with a grade of C or better.

  • Language proficiency documentation only applies if English is not your primary language

International student applicants must provide documentation showing they are free from Tuberculosis (TB).
Submit either:

  • Proof of BCG vaccination (a copy of a childhood vaccination record can be used, it does not need to be translated)

For Transfer Students (from a U.S. school):

Submit:

  • Unofficial U.S. transcript

  • Current I-20

  • Copy of visa and passport

For Students who will be under the age of 18 prior to starting studies:

Submit:

  • Unofficial high school transcript or completion certification of secondary level/high school education

Under 18 Authorization Form

If available, include a copy of your passport. It helps us prepare your Form I-20.
