Expanding Access, Building Pathways from High School to College

Butte College has established partnerships with county offices of education and high school districts through its Dual Enrollment offerings. Dual Enrollment expands equitable access and creates a seamless transition from high school to community college. These pathways support career technical education, transfer preparation, higher graduation rates, and overall college and career readiness.

Program Overview

By leveraging strong College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnerships, students are empowered with the guidance and resources needed to transition successfully into higher education and the workforce.

CCAP Dual Enrollment can help students:

  • Earn high school and college credit at the same time
  • Build a seamless pathway from high school to community college

  • Improve high school graduation outcomes

  • Develop college and career readiness

  • Build confidence in college-level coursework
  • Save money on tuition and textbooks - this program is FREE!
  • Prepare for transfer or career technical education pathways

By offering college courses in a familiar and supportive environment, CCAP Dual Enrollment empowers students to build confidence, explore academic interests, and take meaningful steps toward life after high school. Participation in CCAP Dual Enrollment classes does not affect eligibility for the Butte Promise Scholarship.

Earning College Credit

Dual Enrollment classes are offered on participating high school campuses during the regular school day. Courses are taught by qualified high school teachers who meet Butte College's minimum qualifications or by Butte College instructors.

Through CCAP Dual Enrollment, students:

  • Take real Butte College courses while in high school

  • Earn college credit at no cost

  • Build a permanent Butte College transcript

Credits earned through Dual Enrollment may be applied toward a certificate, associate degree, or transfer and can be used at colleges and universities that accept Butte College credit.

Because course offerings vary by high school, students and parents should contact their high school counselor to learn about available classes and how to participate.
