CTE Transitions
High School Articulation
High School Articulation is a formal agreement that aligns high school curriculum with Butte College courses, enabling high school and Adult Education students to earn free college credit for Career Technical Education (CTE) courses completed during high school.
The purpose of High School Articulation is to support exploration of career pathways and create a smoother transition from high school to college. It also helps prevent course repetition, accelerates degree completion, and reduces overall costs.
Students who earn a grade of “B” or better in the class and achieve a score of 70% or higher on the Butte College approved credit-by-exam will receive articulated credit on their Butte College transcript. Credit will appear on Butte College transcripts with a "HS" notation indicating that the course was completed through a High School Articulation agreement.
Please note that while high school articulated credit is accepted for transfer by most California institutions, the University of California does not accept credit-by-exam for transfer.
