Resource Family Approval
Butte College FKCE offers Resource Family Approval (RFA) classes for those that are going through the process of becoming foster parents, relative caregivers or anyone that is going to care for a child that is not their own.
The human brain is a remarkable and complex organ. It is the organ that allows us to form and maintain relationships, read, write, dance and sing. There is not a single aspect of human life that doesn’t involve the brain.
Resource Family Approval Classes (Pods)
There are seven three-hour classes (pods), for a total of 21 hours, required by Butte and Glenn County Children's Services. They do not have to be completed in order.
In-person classes are held at the Butte College Skyway Center - 2480 Notre Dame Blvd, Chico, CA 95928 unless otherwise noted.
*All classes are subject to cancellation and may be cancelled due to lack of pre-registration. Please check website for updates.

Important Reminders
- Participate from a location with minimal/no interruptions, where your face is visible and you can respond if needed.
- Make sure your name appears correctly on your Zoom screen (not “iPhone”, “Zoom user”, etc.). Learn how to change your name on Zoom.
- If more than one participant is joining from the same device, both individuals must be visible on camera and both names must appear on the screen.

Being late or absent for more than 15 minutes may result in loss of credit.
- Do not attend the class while driving. Please join from a stationary location.

Individuals under the age of 18, including infants and children, are not permitted to attend FKCE classes or workshops and minor children should not be visible on camera during the session.
