Butte College Non-Credit Parenting Classes
Butte College Non-Credit Parenting (PAR) Classes help parents, caregivers, and other adults build knowledge and confidence while creating positive family experiences. Offered at no cost, these classes provide a safe, supportive space to learn effective parenting practices, connect with others, and gain tools that promote family success and overall well-being.

PAR-303: Family Dynamics:

This course assists parents and caregivers in learning the characteristics needed for healthy environments and relationships in the home while recognizing the uniqueness of each family dynamic. The focus is on ways parents and caregivers can care for themselves while providing the stability needed to meet the physical and emotional needs of children.

PAR-304: Emotional Regulation at Home:

This course provides parents and caregivers with an overview of emotional health. Participants will learn to identify and understand signs of mental health distress and applicable tools to regulate emotional reactions, resulting in reducing stigma and encouraging supportive conversations. The focus is on exploring factors that influence mental health and emotional regulation in our homes. The course will provide protective measures and skills needed to aid in healthy coping and regulation strategies for parents, caregivers, and youth in the community.

PAR-305: Co-Parenting:

This course is designed to support parents in building healthier, more cooperative relationships for the benefit of their children. Participants will develop practical skills in communication, conflict management, and problem-solving to navigate the challenges of parenting across two households. Key topics include navigating divorce and separation, managing high-conflict situations in and outside the home, and fostering emotional repair and resilience for both parents and children. By the end of the course, parents will be better equipped to work together constructively, reduce stress, and create a more stable and supportive environment for their children.

Learn essential strategies to help children regulate their emotions, foster a deep sense of safety and security, and reduce challenging behaviors. Whether you're a new parent or seasoned caregiver, Connected Parenting offers practical tools to nurture trust, resilience, and a lifelong positive relationship.
