Ag and Natural Resources Remodel

Expected Completion: December 2026

The Agriculture and Natural Resources Building remodel will transform a former science facility into a modern learning environment that supports hands-on education in agriculture and natural resources. Funded through Measure J, the $8.9 million project includes updated classrooms, laboratories, lecture spaces, faculty offices, and dedicated areas for program growth. The renovated facility will provide students with contemporary learning spaces designed to prepare them for careers in one of the region’s most important industries.

Science Building and Planetarium

Completed July 2025

The Science Building and Planetarium is a transformative investment in STEM education and student success at Butte College. Funded through Measure J and other state resources, the $73 million, 77,000-square-foot facility features advanced laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, specialized instructional areas, and a 60-seat planetarium that supports both classroom learning and community outreach. Designed to encourage hands-on, active learning, the building provides students with access to industry-standard equipment and modern learning environments that prepare them for transfer, careers in science, and the workforce of tomorrow.

Math Building Renovation

Completed October 2022

The renovated math building provides modern learning spaces designed to support student success in mathematics and STEM education. The $8.3 million project, funded through a combination of state funding and Measure J, transformed the 14,653-square-foot facility with updated classrooms, a computer lab, faculty offices, and collaborative gathering spaces that encourage engagement between students and instructors. The renovation also included major infrastructure improvements, enhanced technology, and a full seismic retrofit, creating a safe, modern environment for teaching and learning for years to come.

Public Service Center Scenario Village

Completed October 2021

Scenario Village provides a dedicated training environment where future public safety professionals can build real-world skills. Funded through Measure J, the facility includes five modular buildings, a restroom building, and a shade structure designed to support hands-on scenario training. The new space serves students in law enforcement, fire, fish and wildlife, and parks and recreation programs, giving them a realistic setting to practice critical decision-making and complete required instructional training.

Kinesiology and Athletic Performance Center

Completed November 2019

The Kinesiology and Athletic Performance Center expands opportunities for students pursuing health, fitness, and athletic goals. Funded through Measure J, the 19,138-square-foot facility includes modern classrooms, faculty offices, a dedicated strength and conditioning center for student-athletes, and upgraded stadium amenities. The center replaces the original fieldhouse trailer and provides updated learning and training spaces that support student success both in the classroom and in competition.

New Welding and Manufacturing Facility

Completed October 2019

The award-winning, $23-million welding and manufacturing facility expands hands-on training opportunities to meet regional workforce needs. The new facility features modern welding labs, advanced manufacturing equipment, and flexible instructional areas that support multiple disciplines. Built to reflect real industry settings, the space allows you to develop in-demand skills using the same tools and technologies found in today’s manufacturing and fabrication careers.

Skyway Center Renovations

Completed February 2018

The $1.3 million renovation of the Skyway Center transformed an underutilized space into a modern automotive training facility designed for real-world learning. The 6,000-square-foot remodel added a dedicated diesel technology lab with industry-standard equipment, including multiple vehicle lifts, alongside updated classrooms and smart technology. Built to mirror a professional repair environment, the upgraded lab gives students hands-on experience with the tools, systems, and diagnostics they’ll use in today’s automotive and diesel industries.
