Associate Degree or Certificate of Achievement in Cosmetology
The Cosmetology Certificate of Achievement provides the state-required 1,000+ hours of training to prepare students for licensure in California. Students earn a Certificate of Achievement, college credit, and preparation for the state board exam. Graduates can pursue careers in salons, spas, retail, product sales, education, or the beauty and entertainment industries. With additional GE, graduates can attain an Associates Degree in Cosmetology.
Flexibility
Both Cosmetology programs in this cluster are taught almost entirely at the Cosmetology Center, so plan on being there regularly for your major coursework. A small number of required courses aren't yet reliably scheduled anywhere, so check the course sequence with a counselor to plan around any gaps. General education courses offer more flexibility and can be completed at another center or online.

Flexibility
The programs in this cluster center on the Cosmetology Center, where the required coursework reliably runs — Hair Styling completes all its core coursework there, while Manicuring covers part of its core there and combines it with another location or online for the rest. Other centers and Online can help round out general education requirements, but won't advance your required coursework. Since scheduling can shift term to term, check in with a counselor as you plan your sequence.
