Dr. Kimberly PerryThose of us at Butte College are committed to maintaining our national leadership in sustainability. As part of this effort we've made "Modeling Sustainability" one of the five initiatives in our Strategic Plan, signed the Talloires Declaration and the President's Climate Commitment, established a Board Policy on sustainability, and become active members in a variety of sustainability-oriented organizations to include the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE).

Our focus on sustainability is reflected in our curriculum, in our facilities and operations, and in our student activities. We've established a broad-based sustainability steering committee to oversee the program and to ensure that our efforts are coordinated.

EPA Honors 17 Green Power Partners for Fighting Climate Change
Butte College Honored for its Sustainability Efforts Nationally

Jon Stallman recieves aware on behave of Butte CollegeFrom Wall Street to Main Street, organizations big and small are leading the fight against climate change and for the ninth straight year, EPA is honoring 17 partners across the United States for outstanding contributions in helping grow the nation's voluntary green power market.

These organizations have made a cumulative annual green power commitment to purchase more than 2.8 billion kilowatt hours, the equivalent environmental impact of avoiding the carbon dioxide emissions of nearly 375,000 vehicles every year. Read more
