Welcome to nursing at Butte College. Our programs offer three steps on the career ladder for nursing: Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN to Associate Degree Registered Nurse and Associate Degree Registered Nurse.

Each of our programs is approved by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs and prepares students for the examination required in California for licensure or certification as a LVN or ADN(RN).Nursing Students at Clinicals

RN and LVN-RN application period beginning Spring 2008 - courses listed below, or equivalent coursework from other accredited colleges, must be completed within the following guidelines.

  • An overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 for the Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Microbiology prerequisite courses with no grade less than 'C' for each course and no more than one repetition on any of these courses.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.5 for all college coursework taken.
  • TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) - Minimum Composite Score of 67%
