January 29 – February 19, 2014
The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to present DIPINTI, an exhibition of paintings by acclaimed artist Jean Marchese Gallagher. The exhibit will be on display from January 29 – February 19, 2014 in the Butte College Art Gallery. An opening reception will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
In DIPINTI, Jean Marchese Gallagher's main focus is the tarantella, a traditional Sicilian dance that originated from dual sources; courtship, and the hysterical condition produced from a tarantula spider bite. In other works Gallagher explores the nature of balance in human relationships. Visitors to DIPINTI will be greeted with paintings displaying rich, intense color, lustrous surfaces, and Gallagher's expert handling of the human form.
