Five Butte College football players participated in National Signing Day and have signed official letters of intent.
Brandon Rankin, Butte College's defensive tackle has signed with Washington State and holds the 2008 All Region, All State/All American, 2008 JC Gridwire All American, and 2008 State Championship Most Valuable Player awards.
Wide receiver Josh Bellamy signed with Iowa State and holds a school record with 17 touch down receptions and is a 2008 All NorCal Conference leader.
Butte College running back Alex Green, signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Hawaii. He earned the 2008 State Championship Offensive Most Valuable Player and 2008 Offensive Most Valuable Player honors.
Preston Pace, defensive back, has signed with the University of Louisville while defensive back, Kyle McHenry, signed with the Haskell Indians Nation University. McHenry was named the 2007 Special Teams MVP.
"This is a culmination of a lot of hard work and caps off a national championship season. We're really excited for them and we know they will represent Butte College well," said Jeff Jordan, Butte College Head Football Coach.
Each year, National Signing Day is a college football tradition focused on new player recruits and is held throughout the country on the first Wednesday of February. This is the earliest date high school and junior college prospects looking to enroll at four-year universities for the fall semester can sign official commitments to the schools of their choice.
