Course Description: This course is designed to explore the historical, contemporary and technical issues germane to respiratory care as an allied health profession through lecture/discussion/literary review. Emphasis will be placed on issues relevant to the current practice of respiratory care and credentialing requirements. Preparation for post-graduate credentialing examinations will be included in the course work. Graded only.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Score a minimum of 70% on a National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Therapist Multiple Choice exam (TMC) prior to graduation.
- Apply the knowledge gained in advanced respiratory care topics to clinical scenarios.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the contempory issues of respiratory care.
- Successfully complete a professional resume and interview process.
