Course Description: This course provides the skills and knowledge needed for the firefighter to take on increased leadership roles and responsibilities pertaining to fire department communications, fire ground operations, rescue operations, and fire and life safety initiatives, preparedness, and maintenance. Graded only.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to meet the California State Fire Marshal IFSAC/PROBOARD Certification for Firefighter II.

  2. Familiarize yourself with the content of the US Department of Transportation Emergency Response Guidebook, and be prepared to identify appropriate responses to scenario-based questions.

  1. Prepare a 2-page Pre Fire Plan and submit to your instructor when completed.
  2. Prepare a 2-page Pre Fire Survey and submit to your instructor when completed.
