STUDY ABROAD SUMMER 2017 PROGRAM
Where in the world are we going?
Since 2006 Butte College has offered a unique inter-disciplinary study abroad program which increases global awareness and Spanish language competency. In addition, students fulfill requirements for the Certificate in Peace and Global Studies.
Our program this year is to Costa Rica from June 11, 2017 to July 14, 2017. In Costa Rica students have the opportunity to visit the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE) as well as model intentional communities, whose work focuses on bringing forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice and a culture of peace. Students live with Costa Rican families and study at one of the best Spanish language schools in the country. They practice their Spanish constantly in and out of the classroom and participate in many cultural experiences.
Butte College offers a summer study abroad program: Total Immersion Spanish in Costa Rica 2017. Stop by to meet Ileana Gantt, program director and pick up a brochure and an application. The highlights of this program: small group Spanish classes, home-stays, cultural activities, excursions and 5-6 semester units (transferable credits).
