Career Work Experience Am I qualified to enroll? Any student who has a job related to their field of study may qualify to enroll in Career Work Experience if, in the opinion of a faculty member from the student's field of study, the job provides significant opportunity for learning new college level skills. Students may enroll for up to 4 semesters or 16 units (whichever comes first). Anyone enrolled, or planning to enroll, in 2 or more Butte College courses during any semester may be allowed to enroll in ½ to 4 units of Career Work Experience. Students enrolled in one Butte College course or less may be allowed to enroll in ½ to 8 units of Career Work Experience. The number of units earned will be based on the number of hours the student works during the semester (75 hours of paid work = 1 unit and 60 hours of unpaid work = 1 unit) and the number of learning objectives the student completes. * No student will be allowed to earn more than 16 units of credit for "on the job learning," in any combination of programs or colleges in the state of California.
