The Independent Living Skills Program (ILSP) is a special program for
youth living in out-of-home care ages 16 to 21. Youth can be in a foster care
placement or group home placement but must have a Butte County Independent
Living Skills case manager. The program is funded through the California
Department of Social Services, Butte County Department of Social Services and
the California Community Colleges Foundation. The ILS Program is administered by
the Butte College Career Center. Butte College works closely with Butte and
Glenn counties and many social service agencies to identify training needs,
coordinate and present workshops and encourage participation of foster care
support, coordinated services and efficient resource utilization. For more
information on this valuable program, contact Kathy Lovelace
