The Independent Living Skills Program (ILSP) is a special program for youth living in out-of-home care ages 16 to 21. Youth can be in a foster care placement or group home placement but must have a Butte County Independent Living Skills case manager. The program is funded through the California Department of Social Services, Butte County Department of Social Services and the California Community Colleges Foundation. The ILS Program is administered by the Butte College Career Center. Butte College works closely with Butte and Glenn counties and many social service agencies to identify training needs, coordinate and present workshops and encourage participation of foster care support, coordinated services and efficient resource utilization.
