“The Many Ways We Are Smart: Fostering Your Youth’s

Emotional and Multiple Intelligences”

Intelligence is not just an IQ number: it’s about how we solve problems, create products, and offer services that are valued within our culture. In addition, research informs us that well developed emotional intelligence is a dominant factor in life satisfaction and in career success. In this workshop you will learn how to identify your youth’s diversity of intelligences, explore practical activities designed to strengthen your youth’s intelligences, and network with peers who are also committed to foster their youth’s “well being”—helping them to be even more successful in your family/ in school/ in the community.

Each participant will receive a booklet on Multiple Intelligence that will help to understand the principles taught.

Saturday November 3, 2007 9am to 4pm Nora will Present:

“30 Ways To Shine: Key Skills For Placement and

Employment Retention.”

Permanency in placement and job retention have a lot in common in terms of positive behavior and communication skills. Join with other care providers who want to promote their youth’s success at home, in school, in the community, and eventually in the workplace. You will receive the book: 30 Ways To Shine, which was originally written as a workbook for mentoring a new employee. In this workshop you will learn how to use this book in your home as a tool when coaching youth about such important social skills as:

·         Fitting in when placed in a new situation

·         Managing anger

·         Improving listening skills

·         Facing fears

·         Breaking bad habits of the mind

·         Dealing with change

·         Working as a member of a team or family
