Q. WHO SHOULD TAKE THE ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT?

A. Students who want to enroll into English as a Second Language (ESL) classes will need to complete the ESL Assessment prior to registering unless classes have been completed through this college. There are orientations for ESL students held at the beginning of each semester when the ESL Assessment is administered. The ESL Assessment also is administered during scheduled times through the Assessment Office, the Chico Center (2320 Forest Avenue) and through the Glenn County Center. Call 895-2350 for an appointment. LEAD (ESL) 300 A/B/C do not require the assessment.

Students for whom English is not their first language and want to enroll in other types of classes (e.g., Child Development, History, Automotive, etc.) should take the regular assessment with testing accommodations.
