Financial Aid Testing - "Ability to Benefit" (ATB)Students who do not have a high school diploma or GED or California High School Proficiency Exam and are applying for financial aid will need to meet the Ability to Benefit requirement. The Butte College Assessment Office administers the WATB on a regular basis to students who need to meet this requirement. The Ability to Benefit requirement can be met with specific scores on the WATB or for students whose primary language is not English, the CELSA (ESL Assessment) can be used to meet the requirement. Students using the CELSA must enroll in at least one (1) ESL course. There is no study guide for the WATB; however, we recommend that students use the Basic Math study guide to prepare for the WATB. There is a two week turnaround for the WATB results. Contact the Assessment Office to schedule an appointment at (530) 895- 2350. |
