Free online courses (MOOCs) from other universities and agencies

MOOCs, or Massive Open Online Courses, give anyone with an Internet connection the opportunity to take a K-12, workplace, or university level course online at no cost. You might enroll in a MOOC to brush up on your skills in a subject, learn a new subject, or use the recorded lectures and assessments to augment your studies here at Butte.

Some MOOCs are from prestigious universities, others allow you to prepare to take an exam for college credit through the CLEP (talk to the academic counselor at your college), and still others offer more practical skills. Our librarians have created a shortlist of some of the best MOOCs and online academic resources out there.
