The mission of the Early Alert Committee is:
1. To increase student retention and success through educating faculty and staff about how to use the Early Alert process
2. To track referrals and service usage
Call the Counseling Department at 895-2378 or contact any Committee member if you have questions.
Early Alert is a process to help a student in crisis receive priority student services with the goal of facilitating success at Butte College.
Staff and faculty can use the Early Alert process when a student has acute, urgent, personal concerns that are out of the ordinary and might prevent the student from being successful at Butte College.
(Early Alert is not designed to allow students to ‘go to the front of the line’ for needs that are shared by all – such as the need for planning prior to registration.)
The Early Alert process is initiated when any staff or faculty member gives a student a VIP Pass to be presented at the service destination. The VIP Pass designates the student to receive priority student services.
