Readmission Following Dismissal

Do you know your dismissal level?

First Time Dismissal

If you are on your first Academic Dismissal, you are required to sit out for one semester and attend a Readmission Workshop.  The Counseling and Advising office hosts Readmission Workshops regularly throughout the term.  During the workshop, students will meet with a counselor to complete the paperwork necessary for reinstatement. Students must reserve their spot in the workshop prior to the date of the workshop. Please click here to see upcoming workshop dates.

Second Time Dismissal

If you are on your second Academic Dismissal, you do not need to attend a Readmission Workshop.  On a second dismissal you are required to sit out for one full academic year, after which you will automatically be reinstated and can resume class enrollment.  If you would like to meet with a counselor to plan future classes or discuss academic strategies for improvement, please call our office at 530-895-2511 to book an appointment.

Third Dismissal or Beyond

If you have been placed on Academic Dismissal three or more times, you will need to petition the Academic Council to request reinstatement.  To do this, you will need to meet with a counselor to complete the necessary paperwork for the petition.  Please contact our office at 530-895-2511 to schedule your appointment with one of our counselors.
