The Butte College Office of Service Learning & Volunteerism provides a number of services to students involved in or interested in participating in a service-learning project.

• Provide placement for students
• Provide service opportunities for students in the form of individual consultations and project ideas
• Assist students with service-learning planning and time management upon request
• Visit community sites to ensure appropriate placement
• Provide in-class orientations by instructor request
• Help service-learners to locate resources
• Provide liability information to instructors for the students' benefit
• Contact students by phone, written correspondence, or on-site communication when appropriate
• Distribute student evaluation opportunities for the service-learning component post-experience
• Provide alternative placement and mediation as needed
• Recognize outstanding service with a public award
• Assist with logical concerns and problems
• Available to answer questions and assess program needs.
