Faculty Member of the Year
PURPOSE
Each year it is an honor to recognize faculty who are engaged in Service-Learning with students within the community. The Office of Service Learning & Volunteerism wants to recognize faculty who encourage students to volunteer in the community, as well as taking leadership roles to address and meet unmet community needs. We want to honor faculty who make special contributions not only to the campus community, but also to our local community organizations.
PROCESS FOR NOMINATION AND SELECTION
1. The Criteria
The award may be given for contributions made to service-learning by a faculty member in some or all of the following categories. Please limit your nomination form to five pages.
Identify the service-learning project or activity completed by the
faculty member.
Demonstrated leadership in the area of service-learning.
How the faculty member has encouraged students to volunteer in the
community.
Indicate the outcome of the service-learning project or activity.
How the service-learning project or activity has impacted the campus
community and/or community organization.
2. The Selection Process
A committee will review all nomination forms, and submit their recommendation to the Director of Career & Employment Services.
3. The Award
One faculty member will be chosen for this award each year. The faculty member will be presented with a plaque.
