Jeff Jordan Jeff Jordan enters his eleventh season with the Roadrunner football program having served as the offensive coordinator/quarterback coach (1999-2005) and the defensive coordinator (1998) prior to the head coach duties. During his stay here at Butte, Jordan has coached and help develop quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers (Cal, Green Bay Packers), Brett Ratliff ( Univ. of Utah ), and Matt Ray ( Troy State ) among others. Jordan had also served as the Roadrunner track and field head coach where his teams won seven Golden Valley Conference Championships. Jordan also teaches within the Physical Education Department and also is in the dissertation process for his Doctorate in Education, which he hopes to have completed next year. Mark Modes Mark Modes brings over twenty five years of experience to the Butte College staff and has been one of the reasons for the success of the Roadrunner defense. Modes has led the defensive unit and made the “Bear” defense one of the most prolific in junior college football. Along with that success has come many players to move on to ranks in the National Football League, Canadian Football League and transfers to the four year level. Willie Thomas Willie Thomas will begin his 21st season on the Roadrunner staff as the defensive line coach. Coach Thomas is one of the key reasons for the outstanding defensive units during his tenure. Thomas was instrumental in the development of defensive lineman Junior Siavii (U of Oregon/Kansas City Chiefs), Jermaine Haley (Miami Dolphins), and Moke Simon (Indianapolis Colts). Coach Thomas also teaches within the Physical Education Department at Butte and serves as the athletic programs equipment technician. Rob Snelling Snelling enters his third season with the Butte Football Program after spending the 2005 season as an assistant at Arizona State University. Snelling previously coached the wide receivers for the Roadrunners. He also returns to his alma mater where he played tight end during the 1997-98 seasons. He brings his experience as a former Roadrunner, Division 1 student-athlete, and professional. Snelling will also serve as Head Track and Field Coach and will teach in the Physical Education Department. Tim Garcia Tim enters his sixth season with the Roadrunners and will coach the running backs. He also will be involved in the special team's game. Garcia's experience will help the Roadrunners continue their strong tradition. While at Bishop Amat High School , Garcia coached quarterback Chris Rix (Florida State ) and Chris Leech (USC). Garcia is also the Fitness Director at Fit One health Club in Chico and teaches classes within the Butte Physical Education Department Personal Education Playing Experience Coaching Experience Bowl/Playoff Experience Carlos Saucedo Carlos Saucedo has become a solid fixture for the Butte College Football teams. His expertise and experience on the defensive side of the ball have helped lead the BC defensive units to be ranked at the top of most statistical categories year in and year out. Saucedo has developed and produced many outstanding linebackers, including, Cam Yeow (CFL,Ottawa Renegades), Dan Lucas (Stanford), and Justin Eilers (Iowa State Univ/Professional Ultimate Fighter). Bobby Bernal Bernal enters his second season with the Butte Football Program after spending the 2006 season as the Wide Receivers Coach at the University Northern Colorado. Previous to Northern Colorado, Bernal was a standout wide receiver at the University of Idaho, where he broke the Idaho single-season record for receptions with 96 (2 nd nationally) en route to being named first-team All-Sun Belt Conference. He also returns to his alma mater where he played wide receiver during the 2001-03 seasons. He brings his experience as a former Roadrunner and a Division 1 student-athlete to the Roadrunner program. Bernal also serves as our Student Athlete Success Program supervisor.

Nino Pinocchio Nino will begin his second year with the Roadrunners coaching the outside linebackers while helping out with the special teams. Nino brings his 10 years of experience as an assistant coach at Paradise HS to the Roadrunners. In those 10 years his teams produced 3 NSCIF Section Championships, 2 EAL league championships and 1 WSL championship. Nino is also the Assistant Superintendent at Butte County Juvenile Hall. Ernie Cornella
Coach Cornella enters his fourth season with the Roadrunner program. Cornella 's addition to the staff has helped solidify the kicking game efforts. Before he joined the Roadrunner staff, Cornella coached at Menlo College , Saint Mary's College, and University of California at Davis . Mario Vela Mario Vela, ATC is in his seventh year as the Director of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trainer at Butte College. He held the same job title at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA before making his move to Butte College. Prior to his appointment at AHC, Mario worked as a certified athletic trainer at Fresno State University while earning his Masters Degree in Sport Psychology. Before pursuing his Masters Degree, Mario attended the University of the Pacific and received his Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine. Mario currently resides in Chico with his wife, Shanna, and sons, Brendon and Dustin.
John Soldate A truly successful sports program emphasizes, and holds as one of its highest priorities, quality education for its student-athletes. At Butte College, this is the case. The athletic department and student services have joined together to provide support programs aimed at achieving excellence in the classroom and on the playing field. The Athletic Academic Advising program, headed by full time advisor John Soldate, offers counseling and guidance in: orientation, educational planning, COA and NCAA eligibility issues, athletic issues, and personal concerns. In collaboration with the Center for Academic Success, student-athletes also have access to a special on-campus tutoring program along with a monitored study hall program. John's full-time caseload is specifically for Butte College student-athletes. He is a member of the Counseling Department, but his office is located in the Butte Athletic Department. This is a unique arrangement aimed at securing the best interests of the student-athlete while insuring proper communication with the coaching staff. John has been working with college student-athletes for the past nine years, starting his career at Butte College as an instructor and coach. John most recently comes from The University of Southern California were he was an assistant athletic director of student-athlete academic services working within that athletic department in various roles including counseling and advising. As a college student-athlete John played baseball at Santa Rosa J.C., Chico State , and went on to play professionally. John graduated from Chico State and went on to receive a master's degree in exercise science also from CSU Chico. He also has a master's degree in education with an emphasis in counseling and student services from USC. John is a member of the 3C4A (Community College Counselors Athletic Academic Advisors Association) and the N4A (the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics). John Soldate is a big part of Butte College 's effort to care for its athletes off the field, as well as on. David Silverstein Has been working for the football program for nine years in various capacities. He is strongly involved in video and statistical analysis.
