Library Workshops: Chico Center

The Library offers workshops for students and faculty. Workshops are offered twice a week; one at the Main Campus, one at the Chico Center. Students will receive an attendance slip and they may get extra credit from their instructors. Faculty can earn Flex hours by attending. Call 879-4024 if you have any questions.

Library Orientation Get an overview of the Library’s print and online resources and the many services available, such as 24/7 reference help, Interlibrary Loan, and access to resources from off campus.

Introduction to Research Databases Learn how to locate full-text scholarly journal articles on a specific topic. Learn which databases to use, plus techniques for searching the various databases effectively.

Search Like a Pro Learn how to effectively search for information. This workshop covers search techniques for library books, online databases, and Web resources. You'll also learn truncation, wild card, and Boolean logic search techniques, as well as search commands for search engines.

We will go over Web-based tools for 3-D drawing, note-taking, presentation, collaborative document editing, PDF converter, foreign language dictionaries and translator, wiki, large file storage and transfer, etc.
