International Education Week

Butte College Celebrates International Education Week
November 14-18, 2016

A full schedule of events are planned in celebration of International Education Week (IEW) November 14-18, 2016 at Butte College, 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville. IEW celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide, and is part of a nationwide effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences. IEW is supported by the Butte College Global Education and Outreach (GEO) program.
 
Activities kick off on Monday, November 14, 2016 in the Center For Excellence (Library 210) at 9:15 a.m. with a welcome by Dr. Samia Yaqub, President, Butte College followed by a 9:30 a.m. awards presentation announcing the 2016 GEO grant recipients by Shahroukh Mistry, Chair, 2016-2017 GEO Committee. A wide range of additional events take place throughout the week including poetry readings, workshops, film screenings and more.
 
In addition to supporting International Education Week, the GEO program supports other events on campus that enhance global citizenship. The program also offers professional development grants to faculty and staff.    For more information about GEO, visit www.butte.edu/geo or email geo@butte.edu.
