Oroville, Calif. The Butte College Speech and Debate Team and the Butte College Associated Students continue their semester tradition of Fireside Debates. On April 24 and 29, 2014 at the Butte College main campus in the Campus Center Lounge students will go head to head to debate important campus topics. This semesters' event is designed to engage students in the debate process as well as educate students on the controversy surrounding priority registration and provide a platform to learn about student government candidates. Each debate will be followed by a question and answer forum where audience members can participate by submitting questions or comments to the debate panel. The Associated Students anticipate involvement from both students, faculty and administration from the college. This event series is free to all and will include beverages and light snacks.
