Resource Center hosts Campus Sustainability Day

Oroville, Calif. The Butte College Associated Students’ Sustainability Resource Center (SRC) will be hosting Campus Sustainability Day on October 16 at the Butte College main campus, Fountain Lawn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Campus Sustainability Day focuses on what sustainability efforts have been accomplished on the Butte College campus as well as booths and activities organized by sustainability students. The event will highlight student groups, programs, clubs and departments on campus that have helped create these accomplishments.This event is free to the campus and community.

Through-out the day students can expect to see eco workshops, composting information, water awareness education, upcycling stations, abundant share, student led activities, Greening the Daily Grind exhibit, campus projects and information and live music by Soul Union.

The Sustainability Resource Center will also be hosting a Chalk Art Contest. The chalk artists will create their art the day before, on October 15th and the judging will take place during Campus Sustainability Day on the 16th. The 1st place winner will get $50. Second and third place winners will get $25 each. Students need to sign up by Thursday, October 11th by emailing the SRC at sustainability@butte.edu or by calling (530)879-6143.

The Associated Students’ Sustainability Resource Center is a place for students, staff and faculty to further educate themselves on sustainability issues and become involved in the efforts at Butte College, the community and beyond.
