College's Nursing Program Pass Rates Higher Than State Average

The California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) gave its approval to Butte College's Licensed Vocational Nursing Program through July 2015.

The average annual licensure pass rate for Butte's Vocational Nursing Program graduates is 100 percent. This rate, according to the BVNPT, is 25 percent higher than the state's overall average.

Butte College's Vocational Nursing program provides the courses necessary for a student to apply for licensure as a vocational nurse.

The curriculum includes the equivalent of three academic semesters of nursing theory and supervised clinical practicum.

The California Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians, under the auspices of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, is the licensing and regulatory entity which ensures that the educational requirements of a vocational nursing program meet the highest standards in curriculum and training for its students. Only those programs successfully meeting the requirements are given approval by the Board.
