Butte College presents “The Imaginary Invalid” November 8 – 17 at the Black Box Theatre on the main campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville.
Laughter is the best medicine and yet something especially funny can cause you to die laughing. These apparently contradictory truths are both applicable to Molière's 17th-century comedy about doctors and other maladies.
The protagonist, Argan, thinks he has every ailment in the book, too many bills, a sassy maid, a greedy wife, a dishonest lawyer, doctors with crazy cures and two willful daughters
Exceptionally silly, filled with gags and groan inducing puns along with much singing and dancing this adaptation by Oded Gross and Tracy Young with music by Paul Prendergast is sure to be a side-splitting, sell-out spectacular.
Performances are November 8-10 and November 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. and November 18 at 2 p.m.
Advance tickets are $10 for students and $15 general and available online through the Butte College Book Store http://buttecollegebookstore.com/home.aspx. Tickets will also be available at the door 45-minutes prior to performances for $12 students and $17 general.
