Writers of all genres looking to hone their craft or find a literary community are invited to attend "WordFire,"a day-long creative writing conference planned for Saturday, April 28 at Butte College, 3536 Butte Campus Drive in Oroville.
Join California writers, colleagues, and friends for a day of creativity and inspiration at WordFire. The one day conference seeks to unite writers of all genres. All wordsmiths—from beginners just developing their craft to veteran writers looking to take the next step—are encouraged to attend.
Keynote speaker Rob Davidson, author of the newly released,
The Farther Shore, opens the day followed by a choice of 11 workshops, including sessions with nature writer David Lucas, songwriter and musician, Mark McKinnon, award-winning poet Troy Jollimore, Poemcrazy author Susan Wooldridge, and award-winning young adult author Zu Vincent. Morning and afternoon workshops will be available including Fiction, Poetry, Page-to-Stage, Song Writing, Nature Writing, and Young Adult Fiction. The day also includes lunch, a panel discussion, an open mic and social hour.
The cost of the conference is $55 for the general public or $35 for students 16 and older.
