Career Trek Held for Eighth Grade Girls

Registration is now taking place for the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) annual Career Trek for eighth grade girls held at Butte College on Saturday, February 2.

The event is held annually to interest girls in math, engineering, and science careers and is open to all eighth grade girls in Butte County. Sponsored by the Chico, Oroville, Gridley and Paradise Chapters of the American Association of University Women and Butte College, the day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Butte College main campus. 

The cost is $10 per student or $15 for an eighth grader and parent/guardian. The fee can be waived if there is a financial need according to AAUW organizer, Anna Devore. Career Trek begins with a breakfast and welcome address by Dr. Kimberly Perry, Butte College President, and morning workshops led by female career professionals.
