Butte College ART Gallery Presents “About Face”
A Contemporary Portrait Exhibition

The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to announce: About Face, A Contemporary Portrait Exhibition, on display beginning January 31 through February 25, 2011. The exhibition is tied to faculty and student discussions being held throughout the Art and Digital Art & Design Department on media, meaning, and function of historical portraits, and reflects on the appearance and role of portraiture in contemporary society. Artists Andrew Terrell, Kyle Delmar, Matt Barber, Erik Elliott, Max Infeld, and Dylan Tellesen of the RAYRAY Gallery in Chico, have created a compelling portrait installation that includes painting, photography, prints, digital works, collage, and three-dimensional interactive portraits.

In addition, Artist Dylan Tellesen will provide a portrait painting demonstration prior to the reception, from 3:30-5 p.m. in Arts Room 137. A closing reception will be held on Friday, February 25 in the Butte College Art Gallery, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Butte College Art Gallery is located on the main Butte College campus, 3536 Campus Drive, in the new ARTS Building (ARTS 106) closest to parking lot 3. Normal Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. For further information, call 895-2877 or 895-2404.
