Butte College Athletics is sponsoring a “Pink Out“ football game on Saturday October 23 at 1 p.m. against Santa Rosa Junior College. In addition to the football game, there will be a bounce house, food, music and a table sponsored by the local Think Pink Team of Butte County where “BC Football Thinks Pink” shirts can be purchased for $10. The Think Pink Team, formed in 1992, is a community based volunteer organization dedicated to educating the public about early detection of breast cancer in an effort to save lives, diminish suffering, and promote advocacy and support. In addition, the shirts will be available for sale in the BC Athletics department. All proceeds from the sale of the “BC Football Thinks Pink” T-shirts will go to our local Think Pink Team.
“This is a day to raise awareness about breast cancer,” said Craig Rigsbee, Butte College Athletic Director. “We wanted to do our part to recognize that cancer touches everyone in some way.”
